Dear Mike I wanted to write to thank you for a great day out yesterday at your tournament. This was our first visit to Skem and, having been to many tournaments (including the national one at Butlins, Skegness), I can honestly say that yours is the by far the best run. I found the friendliness of all teams, referees and organizers to be outstanding and it was a great experience for our girls to play against quality sides from all over the country. I can safely say that we'll be returning next year! The only downside was that we didn't take a point from our last game that would have secured a place in the semi-final so it felt a bit cruel to go out having only lost one game but that's football! Anyway, thanks again and please pass my thanks on to all that helped organize the day. The Club, yourself and all the helpers should be very proud Kind regards Gareth Senior Manager,
Howden Clough u14's Our girls are really looking forward to returning once again, to pit themselves against the very best sides in the UK. Skem has become our summer "mecca" due to the fantastic organisation, facilities and all round standard of football, not to mention the overwhelming hospitality we our greeted with each year. As one of the leading clubs in North Wales we are constantly looking to provide our girl's with a high standard of football, and ther is no doubt that The Skem Tournament provides this more than anywhere else we've been. Your last two tournaments have been run with military precision, from the welcome packs, the organisation of referees and kick of times, right through to finals. What can we say about the finals... simply awesome!! Although we narrowly missed out in 2009, our girls still look back to their u13 win in 2008 with great fondness. To know they played some of the UK's finest teams and matched them all the way gave them great confidence, and a hunger to emulate this achievement again in 2010. Even now when i mention Skem they get all nostalgic about being announced by their names on to the pitch with the champions league theme in the background. The finals pitch is a testament to everyone at Skem and as you no doubt already know, is fondly acclaimed by all who enter as "Skembley" due to its bowling green surface. Most girls who attend will have only dreamt of playing on such a quality surface. see you all soon from your friends in North Wales | | Visit: www.skemathleticgirlsfc.co.uk |
